The item offered here comes from a small factory in Kathmandu, Nepal. The production is still done by hand and using very old and traditional weaving techniques. This centuries-old handicraft and its heritage should definitely be preserved in today's times with the spread of mechanical production. What is particularly important are the people behind them who produce these beautiful and lovingly made products. All of them, mostly women, are members of the Dalit, the so-called "untouchables" and therefore the socially weakest and most disadvantaged sections of society. In our role, we influence working and production conditions, people's wages and the quality of products. Since we work exclusively on a voluntary basis in Germany, the administrative costs are very low. The sales proceeds flow.
